Good Vices That Benefit Our Health

VICE # 1: Sleep in.

It's free, natural and has no drawbacks. More than giving you energy, getting enough quality sleep promotes your immune system, your memory and maybe even helps you manage your weight. Lack of sleep has been linked to high blood pressure, glucose intolerance and stomach fat, all known as risk factors for heart disease. You should aim for a supported 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. If you always drag yourself out of bed, no matter how much sleep you got last night, talk to your doctor. A good night's sleep is not a luxury ... it is essential to your health and well-being.

VICE # 2: Mental health day.

Who doesn't like to sneak out for a good time? It has taken time and research to relieve stress, lower your blood pressure and thus increase your risk for heart disease. It also helps with creative thinking, and can help with depression symptoms. The good news is that the length of the holiday does not matter how happy you are. The best part is expectations.

VICE # 3: Enjoy intimate fun.

A couple of points to make sure ... sex is, after all, the most enjoyable form of activity. It releases good endorphins and oxytocin, a hormone that helps promote attachment, which is extremely beneficial to mental health. One study found that sexually active people once or twice a week had elevated levels of immunoglobulin A, which is thought to protect against colds and infections. Like many passions, sexual activity leads to unintended consequences such as infection and pregnancy, which is why it is not top down.

VICE # 4: Daily chocolate brown.

A decent, well-loved vice. A square or two of dark type, without as much sugar and fat as milk chocolate, will do wonders. Dark chocolate and cocoa (75% cocoa content) can help lower blood pressure, reduce risk of stroke and bring other cardiovascular benefits according to more than one study. Dark chocolate contains flavonoids that are believed to increase blood vessel flexibility, making it more resistant to plaque formation.

Another study published last year found that eating 1.4 ounces of dark chocolate daily for 14 days reduces stress hormones in people who are anxious.

VICE # 5: Girls / Boys nights out.

Finally, research to support something we all enjoy. Some recent studies have shown how much our friends and family can affect our behavior. From what we eat and drink, how much we weigh (for better or worse). Strong social ties have also been shown to bring benefits such as less flu, better brain health and longer life. Friendship is best for you, as long as you are in a balanced relationship with giving and taking. Avoid those that are toxic to you.

VICE # 6: Dress in fat / sauce.

When it comes to vice, any full fat should definitely be on the list. The reason is, there is no need for you to break free from the full fat of your favorite outfit or sauce. This "loaded" version not only tastes better, but they remind us that fat provides a real health goal, as long as you get the right amount of it. Try 10% (no more than 30%) of your daily fat intake to come from a single unsaturated fat (vegetable oil, avocado, lots of nuts and seeds) that reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke.

Omega-3 fatty acids (salmon and tuna, flaxseed and walnut) also reduce the risk of heart disease and may help alleviate symptoms of depression, rheumatoid arthritis and other problems. Eating less fat leaves you feeling more satisfied, so you end up eating less.

VICE # 7: Your morning coffee.

One of the most famous of evils, coffee continues to be popular. If you're like many people who need a cup of coffee to go in the morning, don't feel guilty. There is a lot of research that suggests that coffee not only invites you, but also combats heart disease and some types of cancer. It can also help you practice harder, longer. Moderate coffee drinks in the middle ages have been associated with lower risk of dementia and Alzheimer's. What's more, each cup of coffee you drink a day reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes by 7%.

VICE # 8: Get the order.

They can be expensive indulgences, but the sequels (by the pro or loved ones) are worth the vice. It is often said that leaving you healthier. Women in 2008 found less pain, depression, anxiety and anger when they received a weekly massage by their partner. Their partners also report better mental health.

VICE # 9: Sunset in the sun.

Even though we all know the dangers of too much sun, this lust, in simple terms, has a good side. Sunlight acts as a natural anti-depressant, really works to improve mood. It stimulates our body to reduce the production of sleep-promoting hormone melatonin so that we feel alert, energized and ready to take the day off. Allowing the skin to absorb the sun (without sun protection) also triggers the natural synthesis of vitamin D, believed to reduce the risk for cancer, heart disease, bone fragility and other conditions.

VICE # 10: Wine with dinner.

Lastly, the best vice is dependent on simplicity. Although researchers do not know exactly why it works, wine does not have an impressive healthy nature. Antioxidants can keep blood vessels flexible, or alcohol can help increase HDL (good) cholesterol. All you need is a glass of 5 ounces a day to enjoy the benefits, more than your blood pressure and make you pack on the pounds. Women who drink too much also increase their risk of breast cancer.
