Fat Dogs - How To Get Overweight Dogs to Diet and Slim Down Without Whining

Obesity in dogs is a growing problem, which can cause many problems including heart disease, joint problems, and diabetes. Almost half of dogs in America are fat, especially beagles, dachshunds, basset hounds, and Labrador puppies. Before your dog gets to the point where they need insulin shots, you can slim them down. It will take almost a year, but it's worth it.

Even puppies should not be overweight - all dogs need to be lean, not fat, be healthy. Dogs are the right weight if you can feel the ribs without excessive fat covering. From the side, the dog's stomach should be twisted, and from the top, there should be a prominent waist in front of the hip. When you feel the ribs, they should be a shallow index that you can count on, even if you can't count them just by looking.

The main cause of overweight dogs is feeding the table regularly. While it is fun to feed your dog leftovers, there are serious consequences. One is, of course, that the dog will become uncertain who is the alpha in the family. Alpha is the person who eats first, and if the dog is fed before or during the meal, the family hierarchy becomes unclear. In addition, table scrubs may not provide the proper nutrition for a dog. For example, many dogs who eat leftovers can have vitamin A toxicity, and excess protein and phosphorus. If a dog is given the rest of the table exclusively, they usually will not get enough calcium and can benefit from parathyroid gland activity.

To reduce your dog's weight, one option is to stay on the same schedule, but to feed the dog less, starting with feeding the dog only sebanyak as much as you do now. However, this option can produce a lot of pet dogs, so many owners can add great vegetables to the food. You can also get special low-calorie foods, which are high in volume so dogs feel better fed. Dogs generally don't like low calorie foods, but they will eventually eat them and get used to it.

Another option, which can make you whine, is to change your meal schedule twice a day instead of once a day. Don't leave food all day. Treatments should stop being given, but instead of treating, overweight dogs can be fed one of two small meals. If you really want to give your dog a treat, use carrots or apples.

A well-balanced dog food is at least a quarter of protein and 1600 kilocalories of energy per pound, but if the dog is inactive, overweight dogs will need less food. For canned dog food, calorie intake is measured at 500 calories per pound, even if dog food is all meat, that's 600 calories per pound. For dry foods, 1500 calories per pound, and half-soft or moist foods are 1350 per pound. So if a dog weighs less than 11 pounds, it feeds them about 4 ounces of dry food a day. Up to 22 pounds, eat 5 ounces, 22-50 pounds gain 11 ounces, 55-75 pounds gain 17 ounces, and 75 pounds or more get 35-30 ounces of dry food.

All of these calculations do not always work, however, as each dog metabolizes the food differently and has different levels of activity. Remember, a dog doesn't have to eat every day, and can go up to five days without eating. Also, spaying or neutering a dog does not cause obesity.

If your dog only eats food, don't be fooled. Nibblers tend to eat more in the long run than bakers, and thus gain weight faster. And if the fat dog is picky, the dog will eventually become accustomed to healthy food, it may take some time.

Once your dog is on a diet, keep track of your dog's weight. If your obese dog has lost some weight for two weeks, you are on the right track.

Walking should be given regularly (several times a day), but do not do so first if the dog is really fat. Simplicity in everything is the key to overweight dogs. The goal is to double the amount of traffic you get right now. Once your dog is trimmed, it is good for your dog to walk - most dogs do not have enough training.
