Cardio - Tap Into Your Fat Stores and Start Burning Some Fat!

Note: This is for those who want to shed extra pounds.

Just as quickly I wanted to share because I believe that many people still struggle with weight loss even after adding cardio lotion to their exercise routine. Of course, a well-designed weight-loss plan that involves cardio + calorie reduction will result in weight gain, but there are ways to improve this process and burn more body fat. Personally, my body responds better when I practice the following.

We all want to burn fat when we exercise, right? But what if I told you that Your body's preferred energy source is not fat, but glycogen? (Glycogen is stored in the liver and muscles and releases glucose (sugar) into the blood when your body needs energy. Glycogen is the main source of fuel stored in the body.) So how do you use your cardio to burn fat instead of burning glycogen?

The way is, if you really want your body to knock more into your fat store, instead of glycogen for your cardio energy, get your cardio in the morning, on an empty stomach, or after weight training.

Why?

Cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach will put more pressure on your body because your body is pretty much in a state of 'hunger'. because you slept all night without food. And weight training uses stored glycogen so your body has to rely on the fat stored for energy when you get your cardio. Remember that while FAT is a way of storing your energy, it is NOT the source of fuel of your choice. Your body will always choose existing glycogen stores when available.

You must 'force it' your body to really dig into the energy store. Yes, that sounds crazy .. but give it a shot .. it works for me. 15 minutes of warm-up in the cardio machine before weight training is fine ... but I'm not going to go out and run away on cardio before I hit it. Save it for a more convenient time.

Burn, Baby! Burn!
