What is a Good Low Calorie Diet?

We all know that the law of weight loss is to eat fewer calories than you burn every day, so a low calorie diet makes a lot of sense. But be careful - low calorie does not mean you have a good low calorie diet! Low calories can make you fat!

Let's start with the basics - an average person needs around 2,000 calories a day to maintain weight. Nothing less than this and your body burns fat to make a difference - and so you lose weight. This is the basis of all successful weight loss programs, but there are few if you want a low calorie diet.

Understand that calories are the fuel your body runs on. "Easy" calories come from the foods we eat every day, and converting fat into calories is actually more difficult - so the food we eat is important to keep the fire burning! If you imagine your metabolism is like a campfire - then fat is a long-lasting lump of damp wood that you throw ...

This is the problem with most low calorie diets - and we've all heard the demands of celebrities living on two servings daily - but in the long run, this is not a sustainable diet plan. At first, your metabolism keeps going, so you may lose weight. But in the long run (and we're only talking a few days a week!) - your body will go into starvation mode, your metabolism will shut down and you'll have too little energy to exercise. Then, when you release a car, every single calorie you eat will be stored as fat - so you can actually end up bigger than you!

That's enough to convince me - but there's more ... When you cut out too many calories, you usually cut out too much of the nutrients your body needs. Vitamins, minerals, oils - what your body needs to build muscle, hair, nails and bones - are definitely not good for your long term health.

It all comes back to one thing - you need to educate yourself and get a solid and healthy diet plan. Visit the weight loss review site and make sure you find a good low calorie diet plan - you want to be healthy enough to enjoy your new body!
