The Bad Side Effects of Diet Pills

Weight loss is an ongoing problem for over 60 percent of Americans. No wonder people choose this pill to find a miracle cure for weight loss. Although these pills are advertised, the fact remains that they are not the true substitutes for a healthy, nutritious diet and regular exercise routine.

As demand for these pills has increased in recent years, suppliers have been tightening the market with some cheap and dangerous "pills". People who are unaware of the potential side effects will develop into serious problems taking these pills. Additionally, many diet pills come under the "dietary supplement" category and are not approved by the United States FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Therefore, their side effects are not documented.

Some of these pills contain substances such as amphetamines as the main ingredient which is quite dangerous. Side effects of cheap pills include anxiety, diarrhea, high blood pressure and heart problems including irregular heartbeats, as well as heart attacks.

Some pills work as a stimulant to boost basal metabolism. These pills usually increase heart rate and therefore pose a serious risk to those with a poorly diagnosed heart disease. There is also the problem of withdrawing from the same pill as the drug addict.

Dietary pills that act as suppressors of appetite in the brain cause more serious side effects including chest pain, heart damage, fever, depression, impotence and hair loss. Eating appetite also causes decreased calorie intake and then slows metabolism.

In general, it appears that the side effects of these cheap pills deny any benefits they may have and therefore are not recommended except under prescription.
