Resveratrol Vs Green Tea - Which is The Anti Aging Champion?

Resveratrol and green tea have caused havoc in the scientific community for many of the health benefits they have identified. Barbara Walters interviewed Dr David Sinclair, who has revealed many of the possible anti-aging properties of Resveratrol. Dr Oz and Oprah are promoting the detoxification effect of green tea. The question is, which anti-oxidant "titans" gives you the best chance to see your 100th birthday?

Green tea

Green tea has been used for centuries to treat various ailments and conditions. It is found to be effective in controlling blood sugar, treating digestive disorders, even with moderate blood pressure.

It contains an anti-oxidant family known as polyphenols. Research on polyphenols has shown a link between cancer prevention and this strong anti-oxidant family.

Polyphenols also have anti-inflammatory properties, which can be effective in combating arthritis and heart disease.

In the family of anti-oxidant polyphenols, it is a group called catechin. Epigallocatechin catechin (EGCG), has been shown to improve metabolism, contributing to the popularity of green tea in many weight loss programs.

Resveratrol

Resveratrol (also known as Rez-V) is a micro-nutrient found on the outer skin of red grapes. Rez-V was discovered while researchers were studying red wine.

Dr David Sinclair and his colleagues began testing Rez-V, giving it to various laboratory animals.

Experimental results show that mice, for example, lived 30% longer when receiving Resveratrol. They also have greater durability and stamina than mice not supplemented with Rez-V.

Extra rats are provided with almost constant supply of food, and lose weight!

In conclusion

The best decision for individuals is to include Rez-V AND green tea in their health regimen. Of course, it's a good idea to consult a doctor before adding supplements to your regimen.
