Want Six Pack Abs? If You Want Washboard Abs, Don't Waste Your Time With These 3 Things!

Everyone looks better with a flat stomach, and so it's no surprise that so many people, both men and women, all young and old want "six packs". Reaching the stomach is a healthy and viable goal and it is not easy to be misled or deceived in your quest to reduce your waistline.

To help you here are 3 things you don't need to waste your time on for a flat stomach:

1. Sit down.

Shocked? It's a common myth that sitting is the best exercise for your abdominal muscles but it's just - a myth. I'm not saying you don't need to do any exercises to get a flat stomach because you should - don't waste your time sitting. Don't crunches instead.

The reason is that crunches work your abdominal muscles more effectively than sit ups. Sit ups primarily target your hip muscles while your abdominal muscles continue to target your abdominal muscles. Also, when done properly, crunches are a safer exercise. If you have lower back problems sitting down can make things worse for you.

So don't waste your time doing sit ups. Do crunches and you will do more effectively and get better results.

2. Gizmos and tools.

I'm talking about the slaps you see being advertised on late night television infomers and so on. When you look at these things, it is useful to remember the saying: "If the sound is too good to be true then it is possible."

Some of these tools may be useful but the bottom line is that they are not necessary. You might get results faster without them if you do the right exercises so why waste your time? And you really don't need any equipment to get a stomach wash so why waste your money?

3. Fad diet.

It seems that every week, someone comes up with a new diet better than any other. Some diets are unhealthy and some are not. Don't get caught up in this and jump from one diet to the next in order to lose weight and gain six packs.

Diet and body fat play a major role in gaining six packs but all you need is to eat a sensible and nutritious diet that you can maintain long term. Of course, you also need to make sure you eat the right amount of food to maintain a healthy and balanced weight.

The main problem that many people face is that there is so much misleading, misleading and inaccurate information out there that it is sometimes difficult for people to know what they should and should not do.
