Vegetarian Taco Cart Catering No Longer Out of the Ordinary

The numbers keep adding: Vegetarianism is strong in culture, while sometimes vegetarians make free meat choices very often.

This is just from the Fearless News Bureau: Vegetarianism is very common in California. This is evidenced in the state's directory of vegetarian restaurants and food outlets in the state (over 2100), to a site dedicated to California meat free living south of the fact that a private, privately owned California prison, Victor Valley Medium Community Recovery Facility in Adelanto , California incorporates a voluntary vegan program for its residents that contributes to the dramatic decline in its residency rates (according to the Attorney General's website).

At least offer vegetarian options. Whether they are sophisticated, savvy visitors or ex-offenders, meat-free is a legitimate choice for Americans, especially California.

But it goes beyond strict vegetarianism: There are also "flexible people," who may choose vegetarian options at the same time. In fact, 22.8 million full Americans were found by the Harris Bureau of Interactive Service Supervisors in 2012 to follow a "vegetarian-tendency" diet. In addition, 7.3 million people in the survey said they were completely vegetarian (an estimate of the population's scientific sample). Cumulatively, about 5 percent of American adults identify as vegetarian.

They are a huge number - and that's why so many purveyor products and ingredients come with plant protein ingredients. For some vegetarians, soy, beans, nuts and cheese are sufficient. But to customize some recipes to vegetarian preferences, tacos include, meat replacement products. Based on vegetable oils, nuts, other vegetables (including carrageenan, derived from seaweed), "meat-like mess" and other products available to expand the menu presentation. Served alongside spicy sauces and crunchy veggies found in gourmet tacos, the dish is convincing and satisfying.

The reasons why people choose to be vegetarian varies from person to person, of course. Almost everything goes a long way for health benefits, including avoiding the hormones and antibiotics that most American meat and poultry have. For others, concerns about animal welfare, especially given inhumane treatment, have been reported in factory farms and poultry farms such as warehouses. Most vegetarians are also aware that the amount of resources required to make protein through beef is six times what it takes to grow protein equivalents in plants. The net effect of vegetarianism and flexitarians is that American consumption of meat per capita has declined for more than a decade, with consumption expected to decline in 2014 by 4.8 percent compared to 2013.

For event planners who must take care of the needs of all participants - carnivores and vegetarians. Although few see the mantle of vegetarianism as a religious status in their lives, they only feel better about eating meatless tacos when given the choice.
