How Long Does it Take for Creatine to Work?

Many bodybuilders and lifters take creatine in addition to their diet and exercise regimen. The most successful body builders will agree that supplements are an essential part of this sport if you want to achieve success. It's natural to ask how long it takes creatine to function as you want to see results. Keep in mind that creatine, while good, is not in and of itself a surefire way to achieve the growth you want.

Creatine monohydrate (CM) can aid in protein synthesis. Many people in this sport may ignore the amount of protein they eat in their diet because they believe that CM will offer them enough protein. This isn't right. You should consume 1gm of protein per pound of weight in addition to taking CM. Remember, creatine is not a miracle worker. It works best with the right diet.

It is also important to drink plenty of water while you are in the cycling phase of CM. Usually if you are training hard with a cardio program you should consume about 1 ounce of water per pound of weight. This will keep you hydrated and your cells will function properly. CM works well when the body is functioning normally and its function is water dependent.

Creatine in and of itself cannot make you big or torn. Again, it works well with the right diet, as mentioned above, it should include a lot of protein intake. If you can't get enough protein in your day, try using protein shakes. You can do this quickly by mixing protein powder from a jar in water or milk. In a blender mix about 1/2 to 1 milk scheme, with your protein powder, then add a small handful of frozen and unpleasant berries (of any kind - fresh berries are of course, but I like the frozen ones because they make it taste like ice cream drinks - if that makes sense), and add bananas if you like. Mix everything together and it tastes great. Adding some calories I know, but it's worth it if you have a hard time attacking the basic mix. You can mix this pot ahead of time and take the thermos with you to work so you can have a shake as one of your between snacks.

Now - related to your question how long does it take creatine to work? Once you start taking CM supplements, they will start working immediately; However, you won't see physical results for maybe 2 to 3 weeks, maybe longer. Everyone is different. Bodybuilding is a process that will take time.
