Pigs Prove That Enzymes Make You Skinny

True. A study done on pigs shows that the presence of enzymes in foods makes you lean. So what's so thin about this story?

Here's the deal: cooked foods have no enzymes, and pigs that feed (potatoes) get fat while pigs that feed raw foods (again, potatoes) don't get fat. Specifically, according to E. Howell in "Food Enzymes: The Food Enzyme Concept":

"Technical men in trying to extract maximum profit from livestock find that it does not save enough to feed pork raw, pigs will not get enough fat. Cooking potatoes, however, produces fat pigs that bring ... fat gain."

Why Does Cookery Make Pork (and You) Fat?

So according to research, cooked foods make pork fat. Food cooked makes people fat, too. This is because cooked food is raised at a high temperature that literally kills the naturally occurring enzymes in the food. Our bodies need enzymes to digest food properly, and when we don't have enough enzymes, the food we eat really spreads in our brains, increasing the weight and appearance of beer belly.

In particular, other studies indicate that:

1. Canned foods lack enzymes and often stimulate the endocrine system, promoting weight gain (E. F. Kohman in "Comparative experiments with canned, cooked and raw foods" in the Journal of Nutrition).

2. Laboratory mice that eat low-protein and low-protein diets, fats and carbohydrates increase their body fat percentage (V. Korenchevsky, "Pathology and Bacteriology").

3. Overweight people may lack lipase, a digestive enzyme that also helps in metabolizing whole fat (Tufts University School of Medicine).

Scary enough?

Yikes! The results of this study are enough to scare anyone. What I learned in my year's nutrition counseling was the right diet that contained many of the enzymes and nutrients needed to maintain health (vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, and antioxidants) to help lose weight from any diet plan.

Sure, healthy eating is good for any body, but most people I see with weight problems generally lack raw foods, quality nutrients, and enzymes. A friend of mine, Viktoras Kulvinskas, likes to say, "Don't eat without enzymes!" and I definitely agree with it.

Enzyme Therapy for Weight Loss

If you want to lose weight, enzyme therapy is a good place to start. It is a natural therapy that one can perform because it is made from the raw material your body uses. To practice weight loss enzyme therapy, you need to start with a higher quality source of enzymes containing mycopepsin, an enzyme that works well even in a highly acidic environment. Once you get it:

1. Take 500-1000 mg of enzymes before each meal with fountain.

2. Take the same amount of food.

The enzymes you take with food help your body digest the food you eat and remove the maximum nutrients from the food. The enzymes you take in between foods "dump garbage" all over your body and help toxins, which often leads to weight loss.
