Maintaining a Healthy Thyroid Diet - Looking for Food Sensitivities

I understand thyroid drama. Modern medicine cannot overcome Graves' and then Hashimoto's Disease issues. Over the years I did a lot of trial and error tests until I came up with my own. Healthy Thyroid Diet ' Slow down.

There are foods that you need to take away from your diet and there are foods that you need to add to your daily diet. This is not nutrition in the sense that you are trying to lose weight but healthy eating habits.

Not everyone will agree that there is a healthy relationship between diet and thyroid. I challenge you to try it for a few weeks and monitor any changes in your mood.

One more thing before proceeding, it is import to understand that most (90%) of hypertrophy and hypothyroidism result from autoimmune problems. This means that your immune system attacks your thyroid.

One of the first issues I have with clients is their current diet.

EFFECTS OF FOOD

Do you see "gluten-free", "dairy-free" and more appearing in health stores today? This is because many people go down the "big five"; gluten, dairy, corn, eggs and soy and are undergoing significant changes. In order to find the cause, I always started with the Removal Diet and it resulted in clear and unbiased results. You can also get food intolerance tests (not allergies, they are different) but they are far from accurate. Gluten is a great food if you have a thyroid condition and get rid of it. However, often, you need to cut more than just gluten.

YOUR DIGESTIVE FIX TRACK (aka GUT)

As mentioned above, most of the thyroid conditions are auto-immune diseases. There are tons of lymphocytes and other immune cells in the gut, which protect the body from viruses, bacteria, and other invaders. This is why most people with a thyroid condition also experience frequent bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea. Diet changes will help your gut tremendously. "All diseases start in the gut," says Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine and I'm not sure why this isn't taught in school today.

REDUCE TOXICITY

from additives, preservatives, artificial sweeteners (!), excess sodium, trans fats and even toxins that hide around your home. Water toxicity is HUGE in the thyroid state; we are adding fluoride in the US which is now associated with slowing down the thyroid; Fluoride is believed to melt into the thyroid cells which inhibits the intake of iodine, thus the production of thyroid hormone (T4).

DETOX

Your heart and gut because this is where the hormone T4 (inactive hormone) is converted to T3, the active hormone that actually strengthens us. Most of our cells need T3, not just T4. If you are taking Synthroid, you are taking the synthetic version of T4 which still needs to be changed to T3. If you have a soft heart and a bowel, you won't change it properly. Look to do detox every year, with fasts, juices, and so on to give your body a rest.

ADDRESS STRESS and ADRENAL FATIGUE

This is a big topic, especially with women. You cannot improve your thyroid without administering adrenals. Adrenals are also part of the endocrine system and burn when you are stressed. I recommend looking for symptoms of adrenal fatigue to see if you have them. De-emphasize working with therapists, life coaches, meditation, breathing, positive thinking; what works for you - is the key.

REMOVE GOITROUS FOODS

if you have hypothyroidism. Goiter is a substance that slows down the thyroid. It is found in bok choy, broccoli, Brussels & # 39; cabbage, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, mustard, radishes, soy, soy milk, soy lecithin (often used as a vegetarian meal) and tofu. Cooking them reduces their goat nature but you still need to limit it in the recovery phase.
