Study: Close relationship between diabetes and childhood Obesity

A study by Dr. Hanan Hamed, assistant professor in the Children's Department of the National Research Center, confirmed a close relationship between the mother's diabetes during pregnancy and the fatination of newborns.

She pointed out that through a joint study with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ain Shams University shows that mothers who have diabetes during pregnancy and have not undergone regular treatments during pregnancy have an increase in the proportion of insulin hormone with a decrease in the level of the hormone restine, which is responsible for the formation of fat cells. This results in their children being obese as a result of the low level of this hormone and the accumulation of fat cells.

The study demanded the need to follow up pregnant women who are infected with gestational sugar well, and take the necessary medications to control the blood sugar in order not to harm the health of the fetus and the child later.
