Teenage Obesity - A Terrible Dilemma

Teenage Obesity is a major problem facing the world today. The dilemma has increased dramatically since the 90s. Obesity is defined as the accumulation of excess body fat. Furthermore, obese people are defined as 20 percent higher then their weight. About fifteen percent, or nine million teenagers and children under 15 are obese. This was three times the rate of obesity in 1980. It is expected to grow by 20 to 30 percent as we move into 2007 and above. As you can see this is a problem that needs to be fixed immediately.

But how can we correct adolescent obesity?

First, it starts with parents. Did you know that some of the same habits I took when I was 5 and 6 years old still do today like drinking a glass of orange juice before bed.

Get your child into good habits right away.

Furthermore, fast food should not be an easy way to organize dinner no matter how tired you are from work.

Fast food is probably the fastest way to make your child fat. You should have about 2000 calories a day for the average person. Many fast-food foods have over 1200 calories in one serving. You do math, which is unhealthy.

Finally, if your teens or teenagers become obese in later years, you need to get food / exercise and maybe a safe diet pill. You need to get them started with good habits before they get on the road to obesity.
