Any surgical operation may have scars. The important thing is to look for scars in places that are not obvious, and carefully cover the wound and take care to minimize scarring.

For upper eyelid surgery, wings are often created in the folds of the eyelids, so when they heal they are invisible. For lower eyelids, the lid is placed next to the eyelids (for fat removal or repositioning) or maybe under the eyelid to hide it. Closing can also change lives.

Some surgeons like the better subcutaneous (right below the surface of the skin) are covered with stitches that can be removed in 5-7 days to reduce scarring. When an eyelift or blepharoplasty is performed well and the patient is paying close attention to the scar, they tend to change well.

The scars for the upper lid are placed deep into natural folds that are invisible to the eye. The lower lid may or may not have scars left. If there is an external wound on the lid, it is usually just below the lash line.

The lower eyelid scars should be well hidden, 2 millimeters below the lower lash line and are therefore well camouflaged by shadows and eyelashes.

The incisions for upper and lower eyelid surgery are very good. You should expect a minimum or no gap in a half year to 1 year, or sooner. Swelling for upper blepharoplasty is placed in the natural folds and those for lower blepharoplasty are generally placed in normal horizontal folds below the lash line or from the inside of the eyelid (for example transconjunctival approach).
