The Ayurvedic Way of Treating PCOS

Ayurveda is an ancient medical system that originated in India thousands of years ago. In the western world, Ayurvedic treatment is considered as CAM or Alternative Medical Supplement. Although CAM is not a conventional way of healing the body from any pain or illness, it is gaining popularity today.

One of the most common Ayurvedic treatments is PCOS Ayurveda or a natural way to treat Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. This condition is believed to be due to hormonal imbalance in the female body which leads to menstrual irregularities, hair growth, acne, skin pregnancy, obesity and excess androgen production.

Although conventional medicines have treatment for this condition, many patients turn to PCOS Ayurveda or natural treatments because not only are they effective, they are also safer and cheaper.

Ayurveda combines the causes of PCOS with the use of more juicy or sweet, or sugary foods. It overcomes the digestive tract with sugar and liquid and weakens it during the process. Ayurvedic also believes that PCOS may be caused by the "sweetness" of the emotion due to its lack of love or low intrapersonal intelligence.

However, when there is a problem with kapha, the inevitable symptoms appear outside. Some of these symptoms are: weight loss and abnormal hair growth. These symptoms may be accompanied by a decrease in appetite and pain during the ovulation period. Later, the menstrual period may vary from being too heavy, not coming at all. In some women, their menstrual cycle may be too long or unusual.

Nutrition patterns are best controlled through nutrition. This is why it is so important for you to watch what you eat if you have PCOS. Remember that food is part of your overall health. PCOS can be eliminated or minimized by the food you eat so you must be equipped with the knowledge of choosing your ingredients. Basically, garlic, onions, and green vegetables are helpful for PCOS patients. The grains are great too. However, you must stay away from dairy products and red meat as this will worsen your condition.

Today, some Ayurvedic herbs known for PCOS are Saraca root and sesame seeds. They can be taken daily from the second week of your ovulation cycle to the first day of your term. On the first day of your menstrual cycle, you might be able to help to have some Punarnava and Triphala as well. These herbs are good for the liver as they can detoxify and make PCOS treatment much more effective. Other common supplements used are Sapthasaram qwath tablets, Sukumaram Rasayan, Eranda Sukumaram, Rajapravardhini Vati, Hyponidd, M2 tones, Tila qwath and Vaiswanara Churna.

You need to understand that PCOS Ayurveda or the natural way of treating PCOS involves treating your whole body. This means that your body must maintain a holistic balance. You must live in a healthy environment and you must maintain a healthy lifestyle. You may get help when you use herbal remedies such as herbs, but they will not cure you completely.
