Nitric Oxide: Will It Help You Lose Weight & Burn Fat

Nitric Oxide, also known as "N.O.", is one of the latest supplements to hit the market, promising lean muscle tone and carved body, increasing weight and burning appearance.

Can these supplements help you to relax, lose weight, and burn fat?

If you believe what all the magazines say, then I have a land in the Everglades that I want to sell you.

The bottom line behind nitric oxide supplements (when you decorate all the sales of "mumbo-jumbo" and the hype in the ads promoting this product) is that it is a "vasodilator", which should mean that it loses, or opens, channels your blood.

This broader "opening" of the blood vessels is supposed to allow more blood to flow to the working muscles, which should "boost" the pump, which should break them down and make them bigger, helping you build lean muscle tissue, which helps speed up your metabolic rate, which will accelerate weight loss or continuous fat burning.

Well, there are 2 key things to consider here when evaluating how much they really help you:

1) Does nitric oxide really open the blood vessels?

2) Is "big pump" important if you are trying to build lean muscle, increase metabolic rate and burn fat and lose weight?

If and how much nitric oxide frees your bloodstream is still a topic of discussion.

There are no studies that are biased, independent, and review studies that are designed to make them conclusive.

So, we can't say "yes" or "no".

However, let's play "make believe" and pretend that "yes", nitric oxide supplementation allows more blood to flow into the working muscle.

If that happens, let's consider the next thing.

Do you need to get a large blood pump into the muscle to develop or tone it?

Does it help the fat / fat burning process?

Just about everyone thinks that "yes", you must get a pump in the muscle to build it.

However, when you train your muscles in reality you do not push or send more blood to the muscles.

What actually happens is when the fibers bind to the muscle, which causes the blood there to become trapped and pressure increases.

So, in fact, no more blood enters the muscle, actually less because the blood inside it is trapped, cannot leave, and does not allow fresh blood to enter.

That's why as you continue to do reps you start to feel a "burning" sensation in your working muscles.

That is the main sign that there is no more oxygen in the blood in the muscle.

When there is no oxygen in the blood, it produces a chemical called lactic acid.

Lactic acid is what causes this "burning" feeling.

There is no oxygen in the blood because fresh blood cannot enter there with new oxygen and nutrients!

Plus, you can do 1000 repetitions of exercise using a 20 pound dumbbell and get the main pump.

But I assure you that you will not build as toned muscles as if you were using heavier weights, though it may not make it easier to "pump".

So all of these "hoopla" about nitric oxide supplements that allow you to get a better pump to build more lean muscle, improve metabolism, lose weight, and burn fat system are nothing but hype !!!!

It won't help you lose an ounce of fat / weight.

You watch and see, soon all this "N.O." the supplement will fade into the shadows and some new powders or pills will be the new "city conversation", I guarantee!
