Is It Really Worth Trying To Lose Weight In November?

November can be a weird month if you are thinking about losing weight. On the one hand, of course you want to be thinner, but on the other you know that you might lose weight on Christmas, so it might be a waste of time.

So, should you try to lose weight in November?

My best advice is to take a common sense approach this month. It may not be wise to sign up for a weight loss club or pay for some new diet pills, but you still need to live a healthy lifestyle.

I'm not a diver myself because I always stay very comfortable and work several times a week, and I often find myself losing weight by accident.

So the key is to keep exercising in November and forget to lose weight as it may come naturally if you constantly burn a lot of calories.

It's always beneficial to be a few pounds lighter towards Christmas and New Year as you are able to pamper yourself during this festive season and have fun. Trudging around the shops doing your Christmas shopping is one way you can burn some extra calories.

However, I think sometimes it's a better strategy to forget about new foods in November or December, and start again in early January. You can still eat wisely and get exercise for a few months, but you don't have to worry too much if you don't lose weight.

When the holiday season ends in January, you may be a few pounds heavier and you can make a real effort to get in shape. Currently, many fitness DVDs are out, and you'll see ads for weight loss products everywhere you look.

This is the time to improve your workout regime, whether by buying one or two fitness DVDs or by joining the gym, and reducing your daily calorie intake. If you work hard, you should find that you can lose 3-5 pounds per week in the new year, and will certainly burn all the extra fat you accumulate throughout the holiday season.

Weight companies often report that November is one of the quietest months in terms of sales, and this is largely because most people are not interested in losing weight until after Christmas.

I think overall it's a good idea, but of course you should try to live a healthy lifestyle every month of the year if you want to avoid getting fat in the first place.
