Is the Focus T25 Workout Program Right for You?

My serious fitness journey began with a phone call from a TV station wanting to interview me. I have raised money for veterinary expenses for dogs injured by the 2014 Vilonia tornado. My first thought was, "I'm in a bad situation! I can't go on TV!" It's completely useless and self-absorbed, but 100% true!

When I posted a 10-pound weight loss with Diet Cabbage on Facebook, a friend asked me what I was planning to do on my journey. After all, I can't live with cabbage soup forever!

He suggested Focus T25.

What is the Focus T25?

The T25 Focus was designed by celebrity fitness trainer Shaun T. It's a fast, intense and powerful program. It has ten 25-minute workouts, exercise calendars, nutrition guides, and a 5-day fast-food plan.

The basic kit has two 5-week tracks, Alpha and Beta. The third option track, Gamma, is available in a luxury package, or as a separate add-on later.

My Personal Experience

I'll be perfectly honest, this training is a challenge for me. I am not a big fan of cardio activity and I prefer lifting cardio every day of the week. There are some days I don't want to get up and "push play". And I lost track of the time I called Shaun T, especially when he went about the "old" guy on the team (if he can do it, you can do it). I'm a decade older than him!

Calendars have one exercise per day for four days, then two exercises on the fifth day. To me, this beat the entire sale for 25 minutes a day. So I chose to work for six days instead of just five so I could still get all the training in.

I followed the A LOT moderator question at the beginning. By the end of 10 weeks, I had lost 8 1/2 pounds and 5 inches.

The only equipment used in this exercise is the resistance band, and it is included. You work out the privacy of your own home, according to your schedule. There are modifiers to follow if the movement is too heavy. The 5-day fast track has been very helpful and has been my "basic" eating plan for 10 weeks.

Allow yourself at least 30 minutes. Although the exercise is 25 minutes, some are cool at the end. You may need to work 6 days a week instead of 5. If you don't like cardio, you may not like this program. Again, this is a very intense exercise and may be too much for some people.

Do I Recommend it?

Yes! It's challenging, but worth it. If you follow the nutrition guidelines and do the work, you will get the results. The T25 focus is not for everyone, but even though I'm not a fan of cardio, I'm a fan of the program. I made a good decision, and what's not important?
