How I Lost 65 Pounds in 8 Months

There are so many weight loss methods out there today, how do you know which one will work for you? Are you on low calories, low fat, low carb, starving, radical surgery, non-invasive surgery, extreme exercise, banana diet, cabbage soup diet, grapefruit diet, Slim Fast, Metabolife, OTC diet pills, prescription drugs, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers or forget about losing weight altogether and being the best customer of your surgeon plastic?

Four years ago my weight gained control until I was very depressed and embarrassed. I was embarrassed to go out in public because I was afraid I would go in with someone I knew. The saddest part is that my daughter is (and still is) a personal trainer who is known for being one of the best in the entire Dallas-Fort Worth area. Can you believe that I have the help and support available to me and choose food?

I can come up with all the reasons in this book: I live far enough away from her to meet her at the gym; I'm getting older and no one really cares how I look; I have to buy all the new clothes if I lose weight, and so on and so forth. She was so sweet and, as a professional, she never pressed me. He just made sure that I always knew he was there for me when I was willing to accept his help.

I've spent many years watching the scale go up and down. I've lost so much weight in the past that they rejected me when I tried to donate blood once. They say I don't meet their minimum weight requirements! The problem is that I can't lose weight. The food is too good and I hate to be hungry.

Finally, I woke up one morning and knew it was time to change. I hate myself. I'm sick of people telling me my pretty face. The code is "what happened to your whole body?" I started a modified version of the Atkins Diet. I bought Ketostix at a drugstore to monitor my ketones in my urine and I started cutting out carbs. Until I know what I can eat, I will spend hours at the grocery store reviewing each label for carbohydrate content. I cut out all white foods (sugar, flour, rice, potatoes, etc.). I keep my carbohydrate intake below 30 grams a day and never feel hungry! The best part is that I made a commitment to work 3 days a week with my daughter. In a short time the weight just dropped. But as much as it was ... I felt great, my cholesterol and blood pressure dropped dramatically and my doctor was amazed. He cut off my medicine and was fascinated by my success.

I found myself really looking forward to my training. I started running on the runway instead of running. I received so much praise and my pain and pain disappeared. In less than eight months I lost 65 pounds and it looks great!

The moral of my story is:

I am living proof that a low carb diet is healthy. When you lose weight as well as your cholesterol and blood pressure, you know you are doing the right thing. So if you are looking for something that really works, check with your doctor and then consider it. It works for me!
