If you look at really changing your body and improving your personal performance level, you have learned how to manipulate your strength training to be a hard hit at cardio sessions at the same time. You see the true benefits of cardiovascular training come through the resilience and progressive effort of functional training. Now I'm not saying that you can't run or run normally, but I'm saying that when you are in the middle of a strength training session it should also be structured at the same time.

To do this, you need to be very innovative and open-minded about your training. Kettlebells, sandbags, sleds, and sprints against are all concrete examples of cardio strength training. Too many times I have seen people go to gyms and become more enthusiastic about equipment during all their training. It has been my experience that about 95% of most people have no clue as to how to train their bodies to get the results they want and how to do it by avoiding injury.

Part of the training is literally "training your body" to be able to move first and then intensity development can change depending on the level of individual performance. You need to have good strength to have good cardio and you need to have good cardio to have good strength. The two variables are independent and highly bound together. If you want to fit in with your cardio, you need to be prepared to engage in cardio strength training exercises that will make it happen.
