Benefits of Rowing Machines Vs Other Cardio Machines

When it comes to choosing the type of exercise equipment to focus on it can be a daunting task. No one wants to pick up garbage that will collapse and not help them get the most out of their fitness routine. There are so many questions to ask when making decisions about what exercise equipment to buy and use. Not everyone has access to a personal trainer and lacks the basic knowledge when choosing the right exercise equipment, so the question must be asked. Just don't spend a day buying a treadmill to lose belly fat without asking! I'm here to ask you some questions you might have based on my experience, opinions, and scientific facts.

Oh, and I'll just let it be known now that I love rowing machines and I'll talk about it ... and of course explain why.

What are the benefits of rowing machines?

Many people tend to go with hype and pick what's currently popular. I see ordinary people who are not fitness enthusiasts saying things like, "I really need to get on the treadmill and lose weight." or "I think I'll take a exercise bike and burn some calories." I rarely hear anyone new to fitness say they think about buying a rowing machine (also known as a burner). It seems that people are just following what is commonly known, such as treadmills, bike training, and low elliptical machine demands. Now don't get me wrong, the three of them are great and definitely better than anything, but what about a rowing machine? Why not get popular points?

First we compare three cardio-based (cardio) training equipment. Training Bicycles, Treadmills, and Elliptical Machines. These three give you cardiovascular exercises, but which one will burn more calories? Let's compare.

Exercise Training Vs. Rowing equipment

If you are 170 lbs and use the exercise bike to 60 minutes you can burn it up 570 calories. Exercise bikes are great for cardio and are a great addition to any type of diet or strength building plan.

Treadmills Vs. Rowing equipment

Treadmills are easily one of the most common training tools. If you are 170 lbs and use the treadmill for 60 minutes runs at 5 mph on a 0% burnable 670 calories. Keep in mind that the treadmill does not offer low impact exercises and is difficult on the knees and joints.

Ellipse machine Vs. Rowing equipment

If you use an elliptical machine for the same thing 60-mintues at moderate resistance you can burn 525 calories, this also assumes you 170 lbs. The elliptical trainer is considered a lower and better impact training for those with bad knees, joints, and so on.

Of the three "normal" exercise equipment, the elliptical machine offers the lowest calorie burn rate. However, the three were quite close when it came to him. Each appliance has some advantages and disadvantages, such as low impact exercises and sitting rather than standing. Now let's look at the rowing machine.

How Many Calories Can a Rowing Machine Burn?

Some people, if they have bad knees, can't use a treadmill. I'm not here to run, run great and I still love to run ... not just on the treadmill. I prefer using a rowing machine to burn calories and get all the extra bonuses they offer.


  • Low risk: Rowing machine exercises are low impact, putting minimum stress on the joints and keeping the risk of injury low. There is no risk of falling as you sit and as long as you use the right paddle, your lower back will not be tense.


  • Upper and lower body exercises: My favorite benefits and tips of scale are how much extra comfort the upper and lower body of the rowing machine gives the user. You work with rhomboids, lats, biceps, trapezium, pecs, abs, quads, calves, hands, wrists, and buttocks. It's like a full body workout over there! If I spend an hour a day using aerobic exercise equipment then I can also use a rowing machine and get all these additional benefits.

Summary: Choose Rower? Yeah!

Rowing equipment is gaining popularity, but they are still on the back shelf when one wants to buy exercise equipment bombarded by treadmills, training bikes, and elliptical machines at retailers. I think that common knowledge spreads and it is understood how much more profit it can generate, so people will jump in the car.

Rowers are affordable and offer full body training with minimal impact. They burn more calories than the other three cardboard machines. Using a rowing machine for 60 minutes a day will not only lose you weight, it will also ease your body. You won't be a hulk, but you can get good muscle tone. I can't think of any reason to not want this extra benefit. I should also mention that using a rowing machine is fun and therapeutic. I always felt better and never felt like I had been brutally beaten after my training. The only pain you have is the next day, a great pain that lets you know it works. I'm still thin, in shape, feeling great, and I can do everything in front of my TV! If you are in the market for cardio exercise machines, first consider rowing machines. I didn't think you'd regret it.
