7 Steps To Finally Achieving Your Health And Fitness Goals

Having health and fitness goals and high personal standards are very important things to have. What's more important is to take action and actually achieve this goal. So why are so many people trapped, falling off the track or not starting at all? Here are some reasons that prevent people from starting or rejecting them.

Advantages of Information
Thanks to technology and the internet we have a lot of information right at our fingertips, but for some, this can be very confusing. One day you should eat a low-fat diet, after you should include more fat, then you shouldn't eat carbohydrates, but then it's ok to eat the right type of "carbohydrates", so you shouldn't eat gluten or cereals or dairy or sugar or GMO, aahhh! We had the medical doctor say one thing and then the alternative doctor said another. With all the information out there, who do you trust? What do you believe? In the end, you have to make the final decision, do what is best for you as long as it leaves you in the healthiest and happiest possible state.

Mind
Most of the time the issue for the ignorant (see above) is usually due to a problem with their mindset. If you say things like, "I can't", "I don't think I can", "What if ...", you're blocking yourself. The only person who can stop you from doing anything in life is you. First say things like, "how can I?", "I can" and "I will". Once your mindset is in a good and positive place, you can achieve anything.

Everything Or No Approach
There are many people who think the trick to achieving their goal is to use it all or no approach. This idea either prevents them from doing anything, or they are determined for a week (maybe two) and a small slip has them with their hands in the air. Making changes and achieving goals takes time, it's important to have patience or you'll find yourself in the same place. Think about a baby being born, they don't come out of the womb writing a thesis ... they go through the stages of lifting their heads, then rolling, then crawling, then walking, and so on. The best approach is step by step so that habits can be formed and then maintained.

Now, let's take a look at the steps needed to set and achieve your goals.

1. Set Goals
First we need to set a goal and write it down. These goals should be where you can see and review them daily. Try to put it on the bedroom door, bathroom door, mirror, fridge, and more. Those who write their goals are more likely to achieve them.

2. Put It Into The Micro Goals Until You Get YES!
Your goals may be big and may look scary so you can break those goals into micro goals so you can agree to get started. For example, say your goal is to lose 20 pounds. You know you need to watch your diet and exercise 3-4 days a week for at least 30 minutes per session. You look at them for 3 days and think, "I don't hold that much" ... so let's break it down again. What about starting 2 days a week for 30 minutes? If that still looks too much then how about 1 day a week for 20 minutes even though it is just a walk? If you then think that you can handle it then that's what you start with. You can build up to 3-4 days on the road. The main thing is to get started.

3. Set the Plan
Having a plan of action and knowing exactly what you need to do will make your life a thousand times easier. Do some online research or hire a coach to get you in the right direction.

4. Schedule It Inside
Schedule in your training or prepare your meals into your calendar. You can also set reminders on your mobile phone. You are scheduled for a dentist appointment so why not make your health and fitness a priority? Has no cancellation policy.

5. Take Action!
This is probably the most important step. If you don't take action, nothing will happen. Use step 2 to make you agree on something and get it right away! Motivation doesn't always last until you get it! Do it now!

6. Stay Consistent
Perseverance is key. The results will come with dedicated efforts over time. It may feel like you're not working hard as you work toward your goals, but trust me, and one day you'll wake up and be in a healthier and happier place.

7. Get Support
Having a support system will help keep you accountable but also give you the love and encouragement you need throughout your journey. Usually there will be patrons and people trying to talk to you but just remember, you are doing something positive for yourself. Equip yourself with positive people, like to think and ignore negativity.

While you may feel like turning your wheel on your health and fitness goals, it is impossible to achieve it. Prepare an action plan, take action and move on. Don't let anyone stop you, not yourself.
