What Are The Best Dessert Options On The Medifast Diet?

I'm often asked about the candy allowed on the Medifast diet. People are often very interested in the taste and the most filling or satisfying. Before I tell you my opinion, I also need to tell you that there are many foods in this diet that I eat when I have a sweet desire or a dessert. Examples of things I love are oatmeal, lots of bars, and even pancakes. However, since most people are curious about desserts, I will only discuss what is meant for desserts, knowing that you are not limited to this. Many foods on this diet offer a sweet taste.

My First Choice: Chocolate Chip Soft Bake: This is a new item on the menu. It has a softer consistency and is more chewy than chocolate, but it tastes like chocolate cake and is slightly larger than normal cake and more like brownie. It's a bit hard to believe that only 110 calories with just 7 grams of sugar. It also contains 4 grams of fiber and 11 grams of protein. So not only does it fill your sweet tooth, it's also quite filling. As of this writing, these are my favorite foods that are considered true desserts.

My Second Choice: Soft Server: Before Medifast introduced their soft ice cream, many of us used to really freeze shakes to have a sweet and cool dessert. I even frozen them in popsicle-shaped molds with great success. However, with the process working (and still not,) it is not good to wait for the freeze process. Not only that, but this item has an excellent creamy texture that you can't achieve by freezing the shake. It also offers some interesting flavors like coffee and peanut butter. (Combining the taste of chocolate mint with peanut butter makes for a fun combination.) The nutritional content for this is similar to that of soft bacteria, which is 110 calories.

Next Up, The Brownie: I really like brownies but I chose chocolate chips to bake them because I like the fact that the soft side has a combination of cookies and chocolate flavors. Brownies are all chocolate. And while I love chocolate, I find that I usually choose this item if I have a bad taste for chocolate while the previous ones work in most cases. Not only is this flavored chocolate, but it also has chocolate chips, so it's like getting a double dose.

Finally, The Puddings: The last dessert I mentioned was pudding. I really like them and I might just list them last because I ate them the longest. All of the above are newer items on the menu while the pudding is available for a while. However, I find it a staple almost daily. It's also very flexible as I sometimes use dry pudding mixes to make other baked goods. I really like the banana flavor because many of the other desserts listed above have no banana options.
