1. Drink a large glass of water about half an hour or so before mealtime.

It usually takes a little (20 minutes) before your brain realizes that you are eating enough because most people do not take enough time to eat. By partially filling your stomach with water, your brain will get the message faster and you will stop eating early.

2. Eat smaller meals throughout the day, instead of just 3 large meals.

Doing so will help you negotiate the danger zone during the day when you are most likely to fail in your weight loss efforts. That is, you will prevent the dreaded snack attacks in the evening. Instead, make snacks part of your day and plan for them by having nutritious items to bring with you.

For example, by examining your diary, you realize that you drink three cups of coffee daily and use three tablespoons of sugar for each cup. Without keeping a record, you may not be aware of how many calories you are eating each day. By switching to alternative sweeteners you can eliminate these calories and you won't notice the difference.

5. Reduce calories from fountain drinks.

If you really can't stomach the taste of a soft drink, at least reduce the calories of regular soft drinks (32 oz soda, about 400 calories). Sure, get a big cup but make sure you fill it with ice first. You can lose up to half the calories!

As you can see, there are easy ways to trick yourself into eating less. By using this tactic, you can shed pounds without even trying! And best of all, you won't feel any less because these weight tips fool your mind!
