1. Raw meat

Try to avoid poorly cooked or cooked seafood and beef or poultry that is not cooked or rare. Before you visit your favorite raw food bar, or local sushi, be aware that raw or cooked seafood is out of bounds during pregnancy, as they are at risk for contamination with toxoplasmosis (a rare but serious blood infection), bacterial coliform and salmonella.

Therefore, to reduce the risk of foodborne illness, test your meat or chicken donation with a food thermometer. Avoid hot meats, sausages, and dogs in your pregnancy nutrition program, as well as additional benefits will help you avoid pregnancy weight gain.

2. Some types of fish.

Avoid raw eggs or any type of food containing raw eggs, to avoid the danger posed by salmonella. Some foods containing raw eggs include mayonnaise, butter butter, homemade ice cream, eggs, raw cake batter, homemade Caesar dressing, mayo and Hollandaise sauce.

4. Saute Grass.

Are you thinking of putting some bean sprouts in your salad or sandwich with the intention of giving it extra?

You better think twice.

While most of us sprouts may look innocent, (given the fact that they are also a great source of vitamin C among other vitamins), you are advised to avoid raw shoots including clover, carrot, alfalfa, and peanut sprouts as they are all sources potential bacteria and viruses such as Salmonella and E.coli.

While shoots have a distinctive texture and are difficult to replace, you may want to cut the carrot or zucchini in your salad for a healthy and safe alternative.

5. Soft Cheeses.

Soft cheeses made from unrefined milk, including feta cheese, bleu cheese, Camembert, queso blanco, brie and queso fresco should be avoided at all costs.

This type of cheese, especially from the way they are made may cause listeriosis - a very common food poisoning caused by eating foods contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

6. Pate.

Cold pate or any kind of meat spread should be avoided as it is one of the main sources of listeriosis.

Your body's natural defense against listeria bacteria is weak during pregnancy. Listeriosis can cause premature birth, miscarriage or loss of baby during birth. Therefore, keep away from pate, whether it is made from fish, or meat or vegetables.

7. Alcohol.

There is no safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy. Prenatal exposure to alcohol, depending on the volume, usage pattern, and time will definitely affect your baby's development.

It can lead to a condition known as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome - a developmental disorder in the fetus. Avoid alcoholic beverages and keep your baby safe.

8. Excess calories.

You don't eat alone. You are two.

But that doesn't mean that you need twice the amount of calories! If you want to know how to avoid pregnancy weight then take it from me; Avoid eating too many calories.

Taking too much weight, especially during pregnancy threatens your health, and can increase the risk of your baby's future weight loss.

9. Soda Diet

Did you know that despite the belief that artificial sweeteners contained in diet sodas have been considered safe by the Food and Drug Administration, drinking sweetened soda during pregnancy can increase the risk of premature births?

It is best to skip soda at this time and instead drink 8 to 10 ounces of water a day.

10. Licorice.

Now that you avoid fish, your morning coffee, and alcohol too, you may be a giant every morning. But that's not all.

Add licorice to your don't-touch list. Physicians warn that licorice contains a natural component called glycyrrhizin which is very dangerous during pregnancy. These components can affect the placenta and allow the stress hormone called glucocorticoids to enter the baby's system. You can't imagine doing this for your innocent baby.
