Diflucan Yeast Infection

Yeast is a type of fungus commonly found on the skin. The specific type of yeast that causes many diseases in humans is Candida albicans. This is a common flora, especially showing their presence in areas of damp skin such as the arm, mouth, thighs, sexual organs (men and women) and backbone. It is understood that 20-50% of any normal woman carries yeast in their vagina.

Candidiasis, or yeast infections can be adjusted to the skin or there may be severe systemic infections in patients with reduced immunity. These patients usually develop AIDS, cancer patients or cancer receiving chemotherapy drugs.

It is estimated that nearly 75% of the female population will experience vaginal yeast infections throughout their lifetime. This is again exacerbated by previous or secondary bacterial infections such as Gonorrhea and protozoal infections like Trichomonas. Some external irritants such as vaginal douches or internal hormone disorders lower normal vaginal flora and there is an excessive production of acid-producing bacteria such as lactobacilli. Taking oral pills, pregnancy, stress, vaginal sex regularly after anal sex and a personal lubricant containing glycerin are some of the factors contributing to vaginal yeast infections.

Men can also experience genital yeast infections. The cause is stool, which involves excessive anal sex and is not cleansed afterwards.

Oral candidiasis can occur in patients who are not compromised. It can also be transmitted to any person if they have oral sex with an infected partner. Long-term diabetes is one of the contributing factors to oral yeast infections.

Antibiotic and steroid use (which lowers immunity) are two of the leading causes of yeast infections in the oral cavity and personal parts due to accidental use by doctors as well as the stomach. To kill this fungus, we need a drug called antifungal agents. Diflucan is one of them.

Diflucan, otherwise known as Fluconazole, is an imidazole antifungal agent that exhibits major fungistatic action (preventing fungal growth). But at higher concentrations, Diflucan can also act as a fungicidal agent (killing fungus). It helps to destroy the cytoplasmic membrane from the fungus and fungal growth is inhibited.

Food toxicity Diflucan is not affected by the presence of food in the stomach. After absorption, it will show its presence in the skin, tears and urine. The concentration here is at least 10 times that of urine, saliva and vaginal fluid. This illustrates the process of excretion of Diflucan through urine and sweat. This is why Diflucan is preferred by doctors who treat cases of skin and vaginal yeast infections.

Patients with irregular heart rate and liver disease should not take Diflucan as there may be a problem. Although diarrhea is generally well tolerated, people may experience nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and accidental diarrhea.

The main complications of Diflucan are reduced urinary output, lipid ulcer and gum conditions (Steven-Johnson's Syndrome). The presence of Diflucan is noted in breast milk, so breastfeeding mothers should not take this medicine. Diarrhea can cause fetal defects, so pregnant women and those who plan to have a baby in the near future should avoid using Diflucan.

Duclucan is a good remedy for yeast infections but side effects are a limiting factor for the widespread use of this drug.
