How do I cure / prevent turmeric arthritis?

It may come as a surprise that turmeric has been traditionally used by the Chinese and Indians to treat rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis in ancient times. Even today, turmeric is an important constituent of Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical branch. However, they all have a common thread, which is the presence of Curcumin's main ingredient, which is widely believed to have medicinal properties. It has been shown that curcumin can successfully prevent the onset of cytokines and other enzymes responsible for joint inflammation.

Another study funded by the Arthritis Foundation has shown that turmeric actually has many anti-inflammatory properties that can change the way your immune system responds to inflammation. A study conducted in 2012 showed that taking healthy turmeric is actually more effective in preventing arthritis than completely curing it.

Scientists have been experimenting with various concentrations of turmeric for many years. A study conducted in 2010 revealed a unique composition involving 75% curcumin and phosphatidylcholine was effective in reducing pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis. In the meantime, various researchers have embarked on a quest to find curcumin compositions that will solve Arthritis puzzles once and for all. They pledged close to this mission in 2014 when they provided a composition that offered better pain relief than standard nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) approved by the FDA as safe for administration.

Recommended curcumin for Arthritis

· For Osteoarthritis: Capsules, usually 400mg to 600mg, three times a day or 0.5g to 1g of powdered root for 3 g a day.

· For rheumatoid arthritis: 500mg twice daily

Arthritis onset is commonly observed in people over the age of 60, but is known to affect people of all ages. As the old saying goes, 'prevention is better than cure'. Given the fact that including regular turmeric in your diet can produce long-term positive results, it is strongly recommended that you maintain a regular diet. This is easily achieved by preparing your food with a pinch of turmeric. It has good taste and color too.
