Diet Food and Moods - Why Am I Always So Cranky When I Diet?

Why am I farting when I'm on a diet? Do you ask yourself that, or do others always tell you that? Can food really affect our mood and that's why some of us don't stick to our diet or are afraid to start another diet plan.

Yes, food can affect our mood; There are 3 specific neurotransmitters in our brain that greatly influence how we perceive them to be dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin. It also affects our appetite and our food choices. They are made by our brain from some of the foods we eat. Dopamine and noradrenaline can help us think and act fast, help us with motivation and even improve our appetite. Serotonin helps us to calm, focus and reduce our appetite. Because it is made from the food we eat, what we eat can have a great effect not only on how we feel, but also how much we eat. Foods that help in serotonin production are cereals, crackers, pasta, rice, cereals, fruits and vegetables, especially tomatoes.

When we want to lose weight, we limit the amount of calories we consume every day, and if we reduce too much and don't eat a balanced diet then we can feel tired, fatigued and not motivated. So what do we need to do to keep ourselves mentally, motivated and positive? Eat a balanced diet consisting of low GI foods, carbohydrates and protein. Any diet plan that recommends eating more than one of the above should be avoided. Our bodies need to get the essential amino acids and make these neurotransmitters from various foods and if we block any part of it, it can affect how we feel, how we act and how we eat.
