What is the right age for liposuction?

Iman Abdul Zahir asks: What is the right age for liposuction?

Dr. Hossam Hassani, Professor of Surgery and Assistant Plastics at Cairo University School of Medicine, answers the question: Liposuction can be used at any age, although children and young people up to the age of 17 are the only exceptions to the procedure, and the early procedure of this surgery remains a factor Success and achieving the best results, where there is elasticity in the skin and therefore no sagging occurs.

Liposuction is a safe operation, often done through local anesthesia, only accompanied in the first days after the operation by some swelling, and this gradually disappears within the first three months after surgery.

Dr. Hossam points out that liposuction is not a way to lose weight, but rather a way to re-create the body or "reshape the body", making there a general consistency in the body, in areas that do not respond to the diet, and as long as the person maintains his weight may not need to perform it again Count this, as if a person's weight increases, fat is deposited again throughout the body, including places where fat has been suctioned, although it is still less affected by the increase than the rest of the body.

Therefore, attention should be paid to follow the weight periodically, so that there is no weight gain and follow-up by the same person weighing between two to three times a week, and then any slight increase can be observed, and therefore can be dealt quickly to lose weight through diets or exercise.
