Ms. Hanan Ahmed: Do I have diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol, and I want a diet that suits my health condition?

This question is answered by Dr. Khaled Yousef, a specialist in obesity and thinness, a member of the Egyptian Society for Obesity Studies, member of the American Society of Obesity: In the case of a diabetic patient, the diet varies from patient to patient depending on the stages of the disease and treatment methods, but some nutritional advice can be provided in general, namely: :

1- Drink 4 glasses of water 25 minutes before each meal.
2- Add two small meals after breakfast and lunch so that the number of meals is five small instead of three main meals.
3- Eat a dish of therapeutic salad for diabetics which consists of (arugula, radish, red and green cabbage, broccoli, pepper, onion, garlic, olive oil) and it is recommended not to add tomatoes so as not to cause high blood pressure.
4- Drink drinks that regulate blood sugar (fenugreek, cinnamon, ginger, clove tea).
5- Eating too much fiber such as oats and apple night.
6- Reduce the amount of red meat and replace it with oily fish that contain omega-3 such as salmon, sardines.
7- Walk for 30 minutes a day.
8- Do not eat any foods after 9 p.m. to avoid a malfunction in the metabolism.
9- Drink a glass of red grapes without sugar three times a week.
