Medical News published today, that a diet rich in fiber, especially grains, reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular diseases and infectious respiratory diseases.

Dr. Yanog Park of the National Cancer Institute in Rockville, Maryland, USA, and colleagues from the National Cancer Institute and the Association conducted the research, and found that there is a significant correlation between fiber-rich foods and reduced risk of death over the last nine years.

The research team used data on 388,000 men and women, and researchers estimated that 20% of those who ate more than 29.4 grams for men and 8.25 grams for women were 22% less likely to die than those who ate less.

Fiber-rich plant foods are fruits, vegetables and whole grains that resist digestion, and researchers believe in basic information that these foods are associated with a lower risk of heart disease, some cancers, sugar and obesity.

Fiber certainly reduces inflammation, helps gut movement, lowers blood pressure, lowers cholesterol, improves blood sugar levels, promotes weight loss and links the factors that cause cancer.

Park and his colleagues found that dependence on fiber-rich foods reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases, and respiratory diseases by 24% to 56% in men and by 34% to 59% in women.

There has been a great correlation for both men and women and a diet rich in fibre and cereals.

Park says: "These results are still strong for correcting the error to measure dietary calories using study data, and in fact this association was stronger than correcting the error, and we also noted that current dietary guidelines for Americans recommend a fiber-rich diet, and they should It consumes 14 grams of fiber per 100 calories."
