How do I get rid of the excess weight of cortisone?

My son is 11 years old. Taking high doses of cortisone injections for a year and now we stopped treatment two months ago but the problem is to increase his weight significantly will his weight return to normal gradually or needs treatment, and does he continue on the diuretic tablets he was taking with the treatment or stop it?

Dr. Hani Kamal, professor of the Faculty of Therapeutic Nutrition, Cairo Medicine, answers this question by saying:
The effect of cortisone in the body varies depending on the duration of its use and also the amount that has been used it is known that it is known that it works to increase the amount of fat and water stored in the body, so you must first before thinking about how to get rid of excess weight we should conduct a test to measure the proportion of Cortisone in the blood.

We then perform tests to measure the amount of fat in the body and where it is collected, as well as the proportion of water retained in the body.

With regard to fat based on its mass and the places in which it is collected, as well as the patient's health status and age, the appropriate diet is determined for him to get rid of these fats, but for water he is given appropriate diuretics for the condition and the amount of water stored in the body.
