Alcoholism and its relationship to obesity

A team of U.S. scientists has found that the risk of falling prey to alcoholism is also associated with an increased risk of obesity.

The scientists explained that the relationship between the genetic history of alcoholism and obesity has become more pronounced in the past few years among men and women, where it was noted that people who suffered from obesity in 1992 were the most commonly caught on alcoholism in early 2002.

It comes as statistics show that obesity rates among Americans have doubled due to the increased calories they consume in the wake of the increasing demand for fast food and lack of exercise.
